Join the Conversation!
Dear Cougar Family,
We have 122 amazing educators on our campus who all have a wealth of experiences to draw upon and a great depth of knowledge. However, once we get into the routine of school, there are few opportunities to share that knowledge. This year, I am looking for ways to keep the instructional dialogue going. Sometimes this happens organically, while at other times, we all need a little push.
Here are a few ways to join the instructional conversation using technology:
1) The Instructional Coach Blog: Share ideas on Open House on this blog posted by Mr.s Laffin. They add topics throughout the year.
2) Participate in the Pineapple Chart that Ready, Set, Teach is creating.
3) Join CSISD Chat on Twitter on Tuesday nights! Chad Lehrmann and Vanita Vance are great resources for those new to Twitter.
I challenge you to engage in an instructional conversation this week with someone outside your department. Whether face to face or via technology, we all benefit when we learn from one another!
Have a wonderful week! And, as always, COUGAR PRIDE!

Education Foundation Grants
Dear CSISD Teachers and Staff,
Applications for Innovative Teaching Grants from the Education Foundation
are now open! This year we have adopted a new software system, SmarterSelect, to help
everyone involved navigate the grant application process better.
You will need to create a username and password before accessing the application. You can start by going to our website HERE.
All grant applications are DUE October 4th with grant award winners being notified during Grant Patrol on November 9th. Please remember that some grants will need approval from Technology and Facilities.
And, every grant will need approval from your principal before your application is finalized. So don't wait until the last minute to get started!
If you have any questions, please contact us at givetokids@csisd.org.
