DR. NULL'S CISD WORD OF THE YEAR...

Big picture

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK...

Saw this on twitter this week. I took it to heart, wrote it on my board and am now sharing it with you.

5 Ways to be More Positive:

1. Count your blessings. You can't be stressed and thankful at the same time.

2. See your challenges as opportunities for growth.

3. Don't listen to your negative thoughts.

4. Feed yourself with positive encouragement.

5. Choose faith instead of fear!

- Jon Gordon

* NINE WEEK AWARDS - If you have not completed your nine week awards google doc, please take time to complete that. They are located in the ORE google folder, awards folder. We would like to start delivery next week.

* HELP NEEDED - Our feeder zone will be handing out bond flyers at the ORHS football game outside the stadium at on Saturday, November 2 @ 2:00 p.m. If you would help that day, please email me so that I can have a count of volunteers. Our goal is 10 staff members and/or family members.

SHOUT OUT BOARD

We are challenging you to find one staff member who does something nice for you next week and do a shout out for them. We have recreated the board and are ready to fill it with shout outs. Forms are by the mailboxes, turn them in to Kara's box and we will read them on the announcements and put them in the persons envelope on the board.

TEAM HUDDLES

I've enjoyed those who have met me for Team Huddles this week. Lots of great discussion and positive things happening at ORE. Just a reminder that this is an optional activity for everyone but it provides an opportunity for me to hear directly from you on a regular basis and for me to get to spend a few uninterrupted minutes with you. So...I'll be in your area of the building at 7:25. I'll stay there until 7:35 in hopes of getting to visit with you! We will have 3 standing questions...

1. Something good that has happened this school year

2. Something you struggle with this week or this year

3. One suggestion you have to improve our school

We are 39/100. Making great progress! Don't forget to ask your parents, your neighbors, your friends who go vote for their sticker! When you vote, bring your sticker. (be honest, don't grab a handful of stickers - that's cheating!)

I announced at PTO meeting to share stickers when parents go vote. Had 2 bring their stickers in this morning! :)

ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

* Stephanie R and Felix R for working cash registers at Fall Family Night. Couldn't have done it without you! - Maria

*Rachel Miller for helping get CogAT started this morning - Kara

FOCUS FOR 19-20

*implementation of guided math 3x a week

SUGGESTION BOX

Okay, it was mentioned to me that the link no longer worked. I've updated it so if you try it and it doesn't go to the "Suggestion Box," please let me know. Just a reminder that suggestions can be made anonymously if you don't want your identify known. If you have suggestions and/or concerns throughout the year, this is one place you will have to let administration know.
