The Road to Perseverance

As exemplified by Peak from PEAK by R. Smith; and Eleanor R.

What is the Road to Perseverance?

The road to perseverance is an imaginary road or path that people take to achieve something through perseverance. The road may be short and sweet, or long and treacherous and they are always littered with obtacles and adversities. Here are two examples of people that were persistent through their journey to get to their final destination

The Two Examples:

Eleanor Roosevelt and Peak (from PEAK by Roland Smith)

Peak, from the famous teen outdoors book PEAK by Roland Smith, is one of the best examples of people who took the road to perseverance. His climb on a skyscraper in New York sends him to climber heaven, Mt. Everest. On his climb of the infamous peak, he realizes that family is everything, and the only way things happen in this world is by one's ability to persevere. And so did, Eleanor Roosevelt. Her beginnings were very ugly, with her mother never giving her the attention she desired. Then, after marrying her fifth cousin, President F.D. Roosevelt, she seemed happy. Until he fell into infantile paralysis. With her world turned upside down, minute by minute, the only way for her to survive was the road of perseverance.
