From the Desk of Ms. Clark
September 13, 2018
As we complete our first full week of school, we are honored to have you as a part of our SKD family. I remind you of the importance of open communication with your child’s teacher. As I stated at Back to School Night, we all share the same goal- for each child to work to his/her fullest potential and to be successful.
Here are a few tips which can help you assist your child in his/her success:
- Make sure your child attends school every day possible. Missed work is generally more of a loss than made-up work is a gain. There is no substitute for attendance.
- Designate a time and place for your child to do homework. If he / she does not have homework, have him / her use the time to read. Routine is the essence of a child’s life.
- Teach your child character- it will improve social and academic skills more than anything else. Some things are simply wrong, and the world your child will grow up in will punish crimes, so give your child a head start.
- Make time every day to talk with your child about the day’s activities. Let them know you care, and really listen to what they have to say.
I appreciate your support and commitment to Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic School. May God continue to help us to follow His example of unconditional love!
Student Safety First
Please enter the morning drop-off car line with caution. The morning drop off is an express line; parents may not stop and get out of their cars. Students must exit from the PASSENGER SIDE only. Students MUST be ready to exit the car once pulling into the car line drop-off in order to eliminate back-up traffic. DO NOT DRIVE OUT OF THE CAR LINE. PLEASE WAIT FOR THE LINE TO MOVE SLOWLY TO EXIT.
If you need to bring your child into the school building, you MUST park your car in the front of the school and enter through the main school entrance. You must report to the office. No cars are permitted to park or idle in front of the school in the fire lane.

Mr. Clifton aka Card Player
Mr. Clifton visited the 5th grade to play a game of "Stress". His opponent, Anthony, was the declared winner. The entire class learned good sportsmanship, working well under pressure, and how to support others.
