The Capital
The capital of Madagascar is Antananarivo also known as Tana. The largest city on that big island. Tana was founded in the early 1600's and its position made it easy to defend against enemy attack. The name Tana means " the city of a thousand , a reference to the 1000 soliders that supposedly protected the newly found city

Madagascar has some of the worlds most interesting animals.About half the animals found in Madagascar are found nowhere else on this planet. Madagascar has severely critical animals that are threatened every day
Aye-aye
This lemur live in Madagascar rain forest feeding on insect larvae.Sadly this unique lemur is highly threatened by habitat loss , hunting , and amazingly what some people believe in.Some people think that the aye-aye brings bad luck and will kill one in sight
Silky Sifaka
This animal is one of the most rarest mammals on earth.this animal also has another name called the " Angel of the forest " which refers to its white fur
Fossa
These hungry carnivores is related to the mongoose and looks like a cross between a puma and a dog. Fossa's are active both in trees and on the ground preying on just about anything like insects , reptiles , rodents and lemurs.
Biomes
Madagascar is home to many of the most richest rain forest on this planet.These rain forest provides give homes to unusual creatures like the mongoose , fossas , civets and etc. Madagascar has lost over 97 percent of there rain forest , Hunting , logging , and gem mining are the few of the many problems that rain forest face.
