Last week was so much fun! I loved seeing the kids dressed up and celebrating reading! I hope they are all working on their March Reading Challenge at home (It's the pink paper that looks like a Bingo Board.) The paper was sent home early this past week. Once completed, students should bring the paper in to Mrs. St. John to receive a prize.
I am sure you've heard of our recent Dreambox challenges. Last month, Team 3 pulled ahead at the last minute and won due to some hard working students over the weekend! This month, we have decided to compete against ourselves. We set a goal of 100 lessons for each student for the month. Some students are already ahead of the game, with over 20 lessons this past week alone! While Dreambox isn't a required homework assignment, I always encourage students to work on it if they have some extra time at home.
Classroom Notes and Reminders
Attestation Forms-
**IMPORTANT**
Before signing these forms each day, please be sure you have carefully read the whole form.
Thank you for completing this every morning!
Assignment Books-
Please check your child's assignment book each night and initial it. I check these each morning for signatures and special notes from you.
Reading Homework-
Reading with your child each night is one of the best ways you can help them grow as a reader. Even if your child prefers reading alone, asking them about what they read is a great way to check in on their comprehension skills. Please be sure your child is reading every night.
Math Homework-
After Christmas Break, we added a tiny bit of math homework for each night. Students will be practicing skip counting. The expectation is that they skip count aloud while an adult listens. If they make a mistake, tell them the correct number, and have them start at the beginning and try again.
