ADVANCED PLACEMENT STUDENT TESTING INFORMATION 2021
It's almost AP test time! If you are testing, make sure to plan ahead and take responsibility for your success. Please refer to the Hamilton AP page for all important information that has been emailed and handed out to students. https://www.cusd80.com/Page/106821 Make-up exams will be a digital format taken at home.
NHS Scholarship Semifinalist
Congratulations Annika Buelt! We are pleased to announce that Annika has been selected as a recipient of a 2021 National Honor Society (NHS) Scholarship! She is one of 575 national semifinalists and will receive a scholarship totaling $3,200.
Jefferson Scholarship Recipient
Manvi Harde accepted the Jefferson Scholarship. The award is intended to cover the entire cost of attendance for four years at the University of Virginia, plus coverage of supplemental enrichment experiences. The stipend includes tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, board, and personal expenses.
GRADUATION UPDATE
Friday, May 7th – CAP & GOWN DISTRIBUTION Cap and gowns will be distributed from 8:30am to 11:30am in the north gym.
Thursday, May 20th – SENIOR CHECK-OUT AND TEXT BOOK RETURN BEGINS Seniors must complete the check-out process by having teachers complete their checkout forms. Lost textbooks and fines must be reconciled in the bookstore. All P.E. lockers must be cleaned out and athletic uniforms and equipment returned before check-out is completed.
Thursday, May 20th and Friday, May 21st – FINAL EXAMS FOR SENIORS
Seniors will be taking their final exams on Thursday and Friday,
May 20th (Day 1 Schedule) and
May 21st (Day 2 schedule).
Monday, May 24th – LAST DAY FOR SENIOR CHECKOUT, TEXTBOOK RETURN the senior checkout process must be completed by this date. Students must complete the checkout form and return it to Mrs. Molander in the bookstore by 8:00am on the 24th.
Tuesday, May 25th – GRADUATION PRACTICE AND SENIOR BREAKFAST. Our graduation rehearsal is MANDATORY. You need attend to participate in the graduation ceremony. Rehearsal will be held at HHS on Tuesday, May 25th at 6:15am on the football field. Immediately following the rehearsal, seniors are invited to the cafeteria for breakfast hosted by Student Government and to view the senior video.
**Wristbands will be handed out to students on campus during finals in their English class. All other students will pick up their wristbands at Graduation Rehearsal**
Tuesday, May 25th – GRADUATION AT HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL – 7:30 P.M. The moment you have worked so hard to achieve has finally arrived. Seniors report to Hamilton High School at 6:30pm. Parking is extremely limited. We have one spot per graduate. Please plan to carpool as a family. Stadium seating will open at 6:30pm. Graduates need to arrive at 6:30pm and proceed inside the building to get in line. DO NOT put on your cap and gown until you are in line. No lettering or markings are permitted on the outside of the cap and gown.
Student of the Year Annual Breakfast
Austen Ruddle was awarded the Dr. Fred DePrez Award including a sizable cash amount and a clock.
Hamilton's Top Chefs
Students from Hamilton volunteered their time at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort alongside two of today’s Top Chefs Guy Fieri and Beau McMillan from the Food Network who hosted “Flavortown Feast and Fiesta” on April 15th. Students were: Dylan Franklin, Breanna Dougan, Kirya Tibke, Aidan Davis, Scout Worthington, Lena Wiese, Garrett Gibson, Taylor Jensen, Nathan Ahillen and Kadence Yonkman
Chandler District Art Show
Ella Butler received Best In Show for 3D Art. She made a sculpture called "Covid Kiss."
Harrison Constance won 1st Place in the Ceramics Category for a piece entitled "Kraken Guard."
Hailey Cox won 1st Place in the Sculpture category with a piece named "The Disturbed."
Trey Trent won 3rd Place for his art called "Burning Bone."
All of these pieces and more can be viewed at the Chandler Center For The Arts Gallery through May 6th.
