Why are all your assignments named the same thing?
As the "what do I do now" activity, classes experimented with Google's new Digital Citizenship world: https://beinternetawesome.withgoogle.com/en_us/interland
October 2019
Okay, October is a BUSY month!
In the LC, student's created their own Black Out poetry, which is always a fun week in the LC!
We celebrated Homecoming with a fun week of dress up days, activities and a pep rally before the football game. Students took the PSAT and QBAs. Some of them got to spend a day at a STEAM conference. Some walked for the Hall of Fame if they were on Honor Roll or Principal's list and had the chance to visit Launch to celebrate. We held our yearly Math/Science/Technology Night.... AND had our first Book Fair in several years! The last day for shopping is November 1st.
Next week for the start of November students will be putting together their tri-boards for Science Fair so I'm prepping supplies this week in between running the book fair cash register! I hope everyone is wrapping up their science experiments!
September 2019
September has flown by! All 6th graders had the opportunity to take a field trip to the Coca-Cola Space Science Center to simulate space travel and research on Mars. I was lucky enough to attend two of the days myself and I am always impressed with the CCSSC presentations and events. Students viewed a movie about the effects of space on your body, ate lunch, worked on a scavenger hunt and traveled to Mars, all in one afternoon!
Requests for more games led to an order being placed and they are now here! We have Scrabble, Step by Step Chess, a balancing game and quite a few other new strategy games.
A new white board is up at the entrance to the LC with fun Questions of the Day. Feel free to stop by to read and contribute your own responses.
I'm looking forward to Black Out poetry classes in October, a new book order arriving, and the BOOK FAIR!
