Greetings from the Principal
Dear Riverview families,
Over the last several months your children have been actively engaged in their learning. There are many exciting things happening each day in our classrooms. Classroom research and writing projects have demonstrated students’ passion for a variety of topics. On behalf of all Riverview staff, we continue to be proud of students' accomplishments and their determination to strive towards excellence and make a difference.
As your family may celebrate holiday traditions of giving, please consider giving of your time to benefit your relationship with your child and support the school. One special way to give back is to participate in PTA-sponsored Watch DOGS., a school-based father involvement program that works to support education and safety. WatchDOGS are fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, or uncles who volunteer a half-day or full day here at the school. The biggest benefit by far is how proud the children are when they see their dad, uncle, or grandfather helping out at car loop, spending time in their classroom, having lunch with them, or being with their class on the playground. It is a fantastic way to make memories with your children! More information and a sign-up link can be found in this newsletter if you are interested in participating.
Other ways are available to give back this week as well! The PTA is sponsoring a drive for (new) hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, and children's gifts (unopened) $5 and under to benefit children in need in Wyandotte and Johnson County. Please see the flyer in Monday folders today for more information.
Riverview is an extremely generous and caring community of families, and our students have wonderful role models to learn how to reach out to others and make a positive impact in their world.
Make it a great week!
