McIntire Elementary School
Mission: High Levels of Learning for ALL!
A Full Hornet Pride Board
SWPBS includes universal management strategies designed to meet the needs of all students and develop a common language and focus for all school staff, students, families, and community members. Universal strategies are designed to be implemented consistently and efficiently across all school settings. This includes teaching specific behaviors or social skills that will lead to success in school, providing frequent positive reinforcement for expected behavior, consistently addressing social errors, and arranging teaching and learning environments to ensure success for all.
At McIntire, students earn Hornet Pride Notes when they are going above and beyond being safe, respectful, and responsible. Hornet Pride Notes are positive office referrals linked to a positive call home. Each McIntire staff member can give these referrals. Students bring their positive referrals to the office and Mrs. James or Mrs. Crane will contact parent/guardian with the student present in the office or we post a photo to FaceBook. The looks on student's faces are priceless and it's fun to hear mom and dad tell their kiddos how proud they make them
Ask your child ....
- Kindergarten - about writing letters in shaving cream.
- 1st grade - what they saw when they went walking.
- 2nd grade - how hard he/she worked on STAR tests.
- 3rd grade - about logging in to their chromebooks.
- 4th grade - how they select a just right book.
- 5th grade - what is Kahoot.
Arrival and Dismissal
Please remember students who are dropped off by parents or who walk to school should arrive between 7:45 am and 8:00 am. School begins at 8:05 am. There is no supervision before 7:45 am. Fulton has a before and after-school childcare program (BAC-PAC) for students who need to arrive before 7:45 am. Please call Julie Bell at 590-8080 if you would like to enroll your child in the BAC-PAC program.
What We're Doing this Week
Kindergarten parents, this is the week we continue to let the kids ease into walking to their classrooms by themselves. We'll work with you on what's best for your child as they become more independent. Some kinders may wave bye and say, "see you later, mom." Others may need you to only go to a certain point further from their classroom every day.
August 29 - 5th Grade Project Extra begins
August 30 - 3/4th Grades Project Extra begins
