2/13 - 2/17 -- UPCOMING EVENTS
Feb 13 Special programs EXPO 5-7:30 pm at CTMS
From engineering challenges to advanced academics to language immersion and early childhood education, GCISD offers a world of opportunities for students. Families are invited to learn more about these opportunities at the Special Programs Expo on Monday, February 13 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at Cross Timbers Middle School. The expo will feature stations showcasing our STEM programs, ASPIRE Academy, Dual Language, tuition-based pre-kindergarten, Collegiate Academy and AVID programs. In addition to program stations, presentations focusing on the instructional components and benefits of STEM, Dual Language, ASPIRE Academy and tuition-based pre-kindergarten, STEM, Dual Language, ASPIRE Academy and tuition-based pre-kindergarten will be delivered in the lecture hall, the AVID classroom (A3) and library.
ENGINEER Week 2/21 to 2/25
We are looking forward to an amazing week 2/21 to 2/25. Activities will include field trips, design challenges, and guest speakers.
6th grade- parents be on the lookout for field trip forms coming home this week. Students will be going to the Fort Worth Museum of nature and Science on Tuesday, Feb. 21st. They will see museum exhibits and the IMAX Movie "Dream Big". The cost of the trip is $10 per student. Students will need to bring a sack lunch. We will need 5-10 chaperones. Please email, Mrs. Dozier if you would like to chaperone. Chaperone cost is also $10. Forms and money will be due Wed. Feb 15th.
7th Grade- parents be on the lookout for field trip forms coming home this week. Students will be visiting the University of Texas at Arlington campus on Thursday, Feb 23rd. Students will tour the campus and visit exhibits related to engineering week. Lunch is provided by UTA. We will need 5-8 chaperones to attend. Please email Mrs. Nutt if you would like to chaperone. Forms will be due Wed. Feb. 15th.
8th Grade - parents be on the lookout for field trip forms coming home this week. Students will be visiting SMU to tour the campus and visit exhibits related to engineering for Friday, 2/24. Please return field trip forms to Mrs. Sheridan by Wednesday Feb 15th.

SMU Visioneering 2/18-- SPOTS STILL OPEN! NEED FORMS ASAP
The SMU Visioneering experience is an exciting day on the SMU campus filled with design competitions. GMS can only bring 40 students! If you are interested please see Mrs. Adkins or Mrs. Monson this week for permission trip and information forms.
