News from this week
Dear Parents,
The students looked great all dressed up as their favorite book characters. I would like to extend a special 'Thank You' to Mr. Bob Cline, our guest speaker, for Read Across America Day!
There is a lot of info in your child's Friday Folder today, including parent preference sheets for next year, class picture forms, and the Book Fair flyer. Please take a few moments to review the forms. Please return the Preference sheets as soon as you can. These forms are used to help place your child in a 5th grade class for next year.
I am including our DA schedule below for the next 2 weeks. We will test first thing in the morning, so please have your child arrive on time.
Wed. March 6th Reading DA
Thurs. March 7th Math DA
Tues. March 12th Science DA
Wed. March 13th Social Studies DA
Exceptional Children's Week
Next week we will celebrate Exceptional Children's week at G.O.E.S. During the morning announcements, students will learn information about each of the chosen disabilities. In order to show our support, we will wear a different color each day. If your child would like to participate, please follow the schedule below.
Monday- Cerebral Palsy- Wear Green
Tuesday- Autism- Wear Blue
Wednesday- Dyslexia- Wear Silver/Gray
Thursday- ADHD/ADD- Orange
Friday- Downs Syndrome- Yellow
Please make sure your child continues to work in Education Galaxy 20 minutes a day. I will continue to assign weekly homework to help your child practice their reading skills. I will also start assigning Math review work to practice the skills they have already learned. Even if they finish and assignment, please feel free to have them practice other subjects as well. It is a great resource to help your child practice for Milestones and District Assessments.
