MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Let me introduce myself!
Hello Ben Franklin Families,
Global pandemic aside, there isn’t a more exciting way to start the school year than as the interim principal of Ben Franklin Elementary School! I already know many of the students at Ben Franklin through my work as a Literacy System Specialist and as the 4K Coordinator. The first day of school is always my favorite day of the year, everyone is happy to be here, this year more than ever. Children and teachers are ready to be back together.
Just a little bit about me and my life outside of education. My husband, Tom and I have two adult daughters who work in the corporate world and in health care. Together, we all enjoy traveling, bicycling, reading, and being outdoors!
Parents, I am really looking forward to meeting you and working with you as we provide a safe learning environment for your children. Please reach out to me with your questions or concerns.

If you have not checked in yet, you need to call our office as soon as possible at 414-529-8270.
NEW TO BEN FRANKLIN? FORMS DUE TO THE OFFICE
Just a reminder that if you have any forms such as your child’s birth certificate, proof of residency or immunization records that need to be turned in, feel free to stop by the office prior to the start of school to drop those off. Please call first (414) 529-8270 to ensure that a staff member is available.
NEW PROTOCOLS FOR PARENT DROP OFF & PICK UP COMING SOON!
Information will be sent this week regarding Ben Franklin's new safety protocols and procedures for parent drop off and pick up. Please look for this in your email
MEDICATION FOR THE 20-21 SCHOOL YEAR
If your student will require ANY (over the counter or prescription) medication for the 20-21 school year, Please fill out the Request to Administer Medication form found on our district website and have it signed by your physician.
All medication can then be dropped off at school in its original container along with this form. Please feel free to drop off medication in the office starting August 24.
ATTENTION 4K & KINDERGARTEN PARENTS REGARDING BUS TRANSPORTATION HOME
4K & Kindergarten students will be picked up and dropped off with other elementary students at a designated stop. A parent or designee must assume responsibility for the child at the stop when dropped off.
If parents would like to designate a person other than themselves, they can send an email to Tricia.Geiger@franklin.k12.wi.us.
In regards to same day notification (this should only be done for emergencies), please call First Student Busing at 414-422-2020 so they can pass along the information to the bus driver.
ALL SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS ARE UPDATED
Thank you to all of you for your patience as we set up our Virtual Option and revisit some of our normal start of the year processes like school supplies. As of today, all school supply lists are updated.
One common question right now is, "Are school supplies the same for VIRTUAL students as they are for IN-PERSON students?"
- For 4K-5th Virtual: We have trimmed down the in-person school supply list and linked up a "Virtual" supply list to each school's supply list document.
- For 6-12 Virtual: We have listed the general supplies needed for each grade level and advise Virtual students to connect with the teacher(s) during the first few days of school to find out what is essential to have at home in the way of school supplies.
You can find links to all school supply lists on this page here.
