End of Trimester 1
Greetings Woodcrest families,
I hope this finds you well after a relaxing break. Coming back to school after this break is exciting as it leads right into the final days of the first trimester. Please know that your children and the Woodcrest staff are working hard to finish strong.
With the end of the trimester upon us, please remember that there will be no school Friday, December 3 and Monday, December 6. Woodcrest staff will use these days for grading, communication, and professional learning. We will be back at it to start Trimester 2 on Tuesday, December 7.
With the end of a trimester comes report cards. You will have access to your child’s report card through Campus Parent Portal starting on December 9, 2021. Report cards provide a measure of learning at a moment in time. You should already be aware of how your student is doing from contact with their teacher. If upon receiving the report you have any questions for your child’s teacher, please contact them. I know they will want to answer any questions you may have.
Looking back on the first trimester, I am reminded that each interaction we’ve had at Woodcrest with your student(s) has been supported by caring adults, both here and at home. Thank you for your continued support and partnership. I am confident that Trimester 2 will be another success.
Con gratitúd,
John Franke

Conociendo a la Señora Arango
Señora Arango is the Media Center Paraprofessional at WCSI. She strives to promote reading in a fun, cozy, and engaging environment. She enjoys the position because it provides an opportunity to socialize with the children and interact with all of them.
Sra. Arango has over 20 years of experience teaching and working in various Minnesota school districts. She is originally from Oaxaca de Juarez, México. She is happily married to her husband, Oliver, has two beautiful and smart—often too much so—daughters: Phebe and Kayla, and her little cat, Lilo. Her favorite foods are exotic olives and HOT salsas. Something she always says, “If the salsa is not spicy-hot, it’s just tomato sauce." When not at work, she is usually with friends, family, or sleeping. Her favorite time of the year is summertime in Mexico.
