HOMEWORK DUE IN NOW - CEOP POSTER. HAND IT TO ME WHEN I CALL YOUR NAME!

Plan of attack for today:

You need to complete and print your esafety comic article on how to stay safe whilst using social networks.

Key questions that you MUST answer on your magazine page include:

  1. What are the dangers of social networks?
  2. What should you not post online?
  3. What is ok to post online?
  4. What Privacy Setting should you set?

If it is easier, answer these questions in a Word document first, then copy and paste your responses into your magazine article.

Activity 2: Postcards!

Once you have completed your magazine article, your mission is to create a set of Postcards that advertise how to stay safe when sending photos.

  • They are to be handed out in a Secondary school
  • Use the advice from the list below to create the cards
  • 1 to 2 bits of advice on each card front
  • Check out the examples below

Protecting yourself and your digital footprint

Sending photographs via MMS and uploading them to social networking sites has become a routine part of our lives but it is essential that you THINK BEFORE YOU POST.

Advice for staying safe when sending photos can be found below:

  1. The safest way is to not take such photos - or allow them to be taken.
  2. Resist pressure to be photographed in an inappropriate state
  3. Do not send inappropriate photos to boyfriends \ girlfriends – (you may break up next week!)
  4. Increase the Privacy on your mobile phone - Ensure your phone is password protected, so no one can see your photos
  5. If your phone is sold or goes for servicing ensure that all photos are deleted
  6. Do not upload photos to any sites
  7. Do not allow people to tag you in photos without your approval
  8. Report photos that have been uploaded of you that are inappropriate
