A MESSAGE FROM MRS. LUNA
Dear families,
The weather has definitely been inconsistent. Please make sure children have proper attire for the day. They do go outside for recess unless it is too wet. Start preparing your child's winter gear. If you need assistance with them, please reach out.
We have had several bus complaints to start the year. Name calling, moving around while the bus is in motion, switching seats...the list goes on and on. I can spend hours each day pulling kids out of class to try and get to the bottom of things. This, in turn, takes them away from learning. Safety and students feeling safe both on the bus and in school is my #1 concern. For this reason, I have made the decision to have assigned seats on bus #8 and #9 until further notice. I have not had issues on bus #5 so they will continue to get to choose their seat, but if problems do arise, they will get assigned seats as well. If you have questions, please reach out to me.
Mrs. Christa Luna

Getting to Know the Elementary Parent-Student Handbook
Be sure your child is dressed for the weather conditions. During cold weather children are expected to wear cpas or hoods, mittens, snow pants, and snow boots. Students will be outside at noon recess and before school unless the temperature or wind-chill is below zero. Please help your child understand the importance of dressing warmly.
When students need to remain inside for health reasons, the school will need a written request from the parents/ guardians. The request should include an explanation as to why the child should be inside and should state the number of days the request is being made for. Requests for more than five days must have a doctor's confirmation. When weather conditions prevent students form going outside, recess will be held in the classrooms/gym space.
