Postsecondary Workforce Readiness
Monthly Elementary PWR Focused Update
We hope you are having a PoWeRful Start to the School Year!
How can PWR help your school?
Your PWR Elementary partner is here for you and your school! Our goal is to help each school develop and grow a postsecondary workforce culture. So, how do we help you do that?
We want to provide you with resources and ideas that naturally connect PWR activities and awareness to what is already happening in your school, curriculum, and classrooms.
As we talk with our schools we hear your desire to increase family engagement and participation.
Please invite us to come and speak at PTO meetings and parent coffees. Our team is developing a series of workshops that we would love to share with staff and families.
Reach out to us if you think we can be of help to you in any way!
We are looking forward to a wonderful year!
Would you like to have your PWR partner speak to your families about College and Career Readiness?
We have presentations and resources ready to talk about how families can support strong student habits with their children, how they can connect and engage with their students school, to inform parents on what opportunities exist within APS and how they can access them, and a general overview of PWR concepts.
Reach out to your PWR Partner if this is something you would like! We look forward to working with you and your families to help our students shape their successful future!
Do you not see something you would love your families to know about? Let us know and we can develop and customize any of our presentations to meet your needs.
October is College and Career Readiness Month!!!
Upcoming S'more Topics:
Goal Setting
How to Create a Visual PWR Culture
Parent Engagement
Each S'more will be exploding with resources and takeaways.
Let us know how you are planning to celebrate! And please take pictures of any PWR activities. We would love to celebrate your school and share with other APS schools how you are a PWR Bright Spot!

Meet your Elementary PWR Partners
Pam Rouch
Hi, I’m Pam Rouch your PWR Elementary Partner for K-5 Schools Communities A & L. Being part of the PWR Elementary team is a dream come true for me!
Colorado’s happiest transplant is how I refer to myself. I am a fourth generation Washingtonian who relocated to Colorado 10 years ago with my family. I love it here! Back east I worked in human resources management and college admissions. Much of my time in these positions was spent helping students and adults with career planning.
I graduated from Johnson & Wales University with my BS in Business Management and I hold a Masters in Counseling. Outside of work, my two sons, ages 18 & 13 keep me very busy. In my free time I enjoy cooking, sports; especially football (Go Broncos!), traveling, and love to visit amusement parks with awesome roller coasters.
I look forward to a great year working with you, your students and your staff!

Fatimah Ben-Masaud
Elementary PWR Partner serving Community P
I am a Denver native and grew up in Aurora with my big, loud, multi-ethnic, family. I have a voracious appetite for travel and am constantly conjuring up my next adventure. In my natural habitat, I am usually holding an iced coffee, scouting out colorful street art, and filling my lungs with fresh rocky mountain air on weekend hikes.
I earned degrees in International Studies and Spanish from the University of Colorado Denver with a stint at the University of Granada, Spain. I am honored to continue my passion of empowering young people to achieve their successful futures serving Community P as part of the PoWeR Team!

Katie Gianatasio
I am excited to join the APS PoWeR team! I grew up on the East Coast and fell in love with Colorado during a family vacation when I was in middle school. I do not think I give off the stereotypical east coast attitude unless you start talking badly about the NY Giants or Eli Manning :) In my personal time you can find me in the mountains, skiing, camping, hiking or rafting. The only way I could love my job more is if my dog Bella could come to work with me.
Prior to coming to APS, I was a middle school counselor. I have an undergraduate degree in Human Development from Boston College, GO EAGLES!, and a master in School Counseling from Grand Valley State University. I look forward to partnering with your schools and their families in helping our students have the skills and credentials they need to have the life of their dreams.
