What are they?
Complex carbohydrates are polysaccharides meaning "many sugars." they are made of several simple sugar molecules linked together. It is turne dinto glucose and is used in the body as energy.
Some examples of complex carbohydrates are: breads, pastas, starchy vegetables, and fiber.
There can be positive and negative effects for complex carbs. If you dont get enough, you will lack energy. And if you get too much, it can lead to weight gain.
Our bodies can convert proteins into carbohydrates. Carbs are chemical compounds made up of oxygen, hydrogen, and carbon.
