Transportation News
The ICCSD offers a Pay-to-Ride program, which grants transportation to students living within three miles of their homeschool. This program is available to ALL students interested. If you would like to register your student, please copy/paste the following link and complete the Pay-to-Ride Student Transportation form: https://www.iowacityschools.org/Page/17325
THIS IS BASED ON FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. APPLICATION DEADLINE IS JUNE 1, 2018.
Payment and Fees for Service
· Pay-to-ride fee is:
o $432 per student, per year, round trip
o $260 per student, per year, round trip, for students who qualify for reduced price lunch
o $0 per student, per year, round trip, for students who qualify for free lunch
· Full payments must be made in advance no later than June 14, 2018, to be included on a bus roster for the start of the school year.

Liberty Difference Makers
Liberty High Difference Makers Club will be holding the 1st annual Dance For A Difference on April 22nd from 12:00-4:00 in the Liberty aux gym.
In conjunction with the Dance for a difference we are running spirit dress up days next week.
· Monday- Purple- Liberty Pride day
· Tuesday- White- Let your light shine through the darkness
· Wednesday- Red- show your love/Fight With Flash/heart disease
· Thursday- Gold- standing up for childhood cancer
Additonally, there is a Hair Drive for the Difference Makers club. Our hair drive event will be held this Thursday April 19 at 3:15 in the commons. All the hair donated at this event goes to children with hair loss. There is a sign up sheet in the main office.
Liberty up for Archtectural Award
Liberty High School is up for Peoples Choice Architectural award. The staff at SVPA Architects have given us an absolutely beautiful facility. If you'd like to thank SVPA you can do so by voting in this contest in support of Liberty's design. Voting closes April 25 and individuals can vote for Liberty once a day until the deadline.

National Honor Society Ceremony
Book Drive
BPA (Business Professionals of American) and staff sponsor Kay Nigg are running a book drive through the end of April.
United Way and the Education Commission has set a goal of collecting 6000 Pre-K to 6th grade books to be distributed this summer and fall to children who qualify.
If you have gently used books that you'd like to donate please have your student bring them to school. There are boxes throughout the building including the main office.
Thank you for donating to this great cause.
PSTO is looking for officers for 18-19
PSTO has done a wonderful job of laying the foundation of support for Liberty students and teachers this past year.

Two weeks ago I announced the promotion of Emily O'Donnell from Dean to Assistant Principal.
This past week Liberty added a staff member from West High. Wes Phipps will be transferring from West to our English department. In addition to his work at West High this past year, Mr Phipps taught previously in Muscatine.
We interviewed counseling late last week and will be announcing that hire early this week through my twitter @LibertyHS_Kibby

Admission and Silent Auction: $7.00 dollars to get in at the door. All funds support sending the special needs kids to camp courageous.
IN SHOC-In Service to Others
The group will organize a bingo night at the Residence on Forevergreen on May 2, and host a Workout for a Cause on Friday, May 11, at Liberty High School.

Liberty Fight Song Contest
