Need to Know SVE & LSR7:
New News:
From Karen: In case of rain on Tuesday morning when the Kickball game is to be played we will have a volleyball game in the gym instead.
- K-2 will need to be in the gym by 9:30. You may start to file in around 9:15. Hopefully, we can start before 9:30. Their games will go until 9:55. At this time the primary kids will transition out, to allow for the 3-5 grades to transition in.
- 3-5 will come to the gym at 10 and play until around 10:30
United in Diversity Day: On Thursday May 23rd, The Student Diversity Team would like to ask students and staff to wear RED (one of our school colors) for SVE’s United in Diversity Day! It signifies how we should come together, to work for peace and prosperity, while at the same time being enriched by our many different cultures, traditions and languages.

*REMINDER* Triage in Place!
As a Vision Team, we met in April to discuss our At-Risk students. You MAY find in your mailbox a copy of the student triage plan (linked here) that lists your student(s) that we would like to have triage or check-in with someone. This ensures that when these kiddos are "falling into At-Risk" on SAEBRS and/or they are demonstrating high concern, that we are meeting some of their needs through daily check-in. Also, the month of May is hard for many kids so, this will add an extra layer of support. The goal is to ensure that SAME triage staff member will be with them starting in the Fall of 2019! Please ask your Vision Team Rep, if you have any questions OR you can also ask myself or Jodi. Here's what you will need to do:
- The Triage Staff Member is already listed on the sheet. This may be a plan you already have in place OR It may be a "recommendation" of a staff to triage.
- Please fill out the Triage Plan. It may be a skill that is more "Social or Emotional" and NOT Behavioral. If so, you can suggest questions in the comments.
- Leave Comments for the Triage Staff Member. There are also additional triage questions on the back.
- Make a copy for the Triage Staff Member AND a copy for the OFFICE (place in Kayla's Mailbox). *The copy of your notes will be important for the office to have for the FALL 2019!
- Ensure your student(s) are getting that triage time.
Repeat News/Reminders:
*Team member leaving??? Don't forget to start planning a book to dedicate to the SVE LMC in their honor! Your team will share this book at an upcoming breakfast on May 29! Get with Annie Nierman for ordering. The book should be a surprise to your teammate. Krista Hall is adding the cover of the book to a slideshow, please email Krista!

*SPRING FORWARD: NEW DATE Will be on May 30th! Here is the SCHEDULE from Jodi Mahurin! :)
*End of the Year Checklists:
*Chromebook Checkout: May 29th - Schedule Here
SVE Innovation Book Study!
In the ‘19-20 school year, you will be asked to choose one of five book choice options that follow the theme of Project Based Learning or Innovative/Inquiry Mindset! As a staff, we will have our first meeting in August as a part of our Back-to-School launch! From here, we will meet quarterly (some with grade levels & some with your like title group) to discuss & brainstorm new ideas you may want to implement in your classroom. This is also a great PDP professional goal for next year (wink, wink).
This is not a ‘ let’s read cover to cover ’ book. We all know our plates are loaded! It’s simply a start to get you thinking beyond what you’re currently doing!
I look forward to coordinating times to meet in an innovative manner (see what I did there)!
I smell a ‘Brainstorm Breakfast’ on the horizon for ‘19-20!!
