TPCS Family Service Program
March Opportunities and Reminders
Hello, families!
The end of the school year is quickly approaching! Please remember to fulfill your service hours and enter them into Renweb by May 26th, 2017!
Below are our current service opportunities. If you have any questions about these opportunities, or about your hours or ways to plug in, please contact us. In addition, if you have ideas of other ways to serve or partner with us, please feel free to contact us to further discuss.
Parent Advocates - a new opportunity to earn service hours while promoting our school!
Word of mouth is the most effective way to attract more students to Traders Point! Our school grows best when our families share their love and personal experience here with their friends and family. With growth comes more opportunity and resources for our students. The following outlines how you can help us grow, while earning service hours!
We will be using social media as a tool to spread the word about our school, and we'll start with Facebook. If you've enjoyed your experience here and would like to partner with us in this way, we'd love for you to share these marketing posts on your Facebook page using the following guidelines:
- "Like" the TPCS Facebook page ("Traders Point Christian Schools")
- The TPCS post must say "Please Share" in the body of the post (all TPCS posts do not qualify)
- Please include your own words above the post as an introduction - explain why you love your school or encourage others to check it out
- Limit: ONE share per week from now until 5/1/17. Each week should be a different post (do not repeat posts, please)
- Service Hours Credit = 1 hour per share

Spring Hill Day Camp Volunteers
TPCS is partnering with Spring Hill Camps again to offer a unique, high energy camp experience the week of June 19-23rd, 2017. We will need many volunteers to make this happen. Below is a list of some of our current needs:
Home Hosts (5-6 families needed):
Want to get to know the Spring Hill staff? We need families to house the staff of Spring Hill. We are asking for you to house college-aged staff for the week they are here at our location. These staff members have a love for Jesus and serving his children. Although the number is flexible, we ask that each family to house 3-4 of staff members for the week. You are also asked to provide a light or continental breakfast each morning for them, along with two dinners for the week. Home hosts are a highlight of our summer and the Spring Hill staff love to get to know you and your family. Typically, the staff will leave as early as 7:00 am and return as early as 7:00 pm. Some nights they may not return back to your house until after 8:30 or 9:00 pm. A fair amount of their time at your house will be for sleeping.
Needed from June 18th to June 25th.
Monday morning Registration (6 people needed):
On the first day of camp, we need assistance registering campers. This opportunity is a short commitment, but has a huge impact as it kicks off the week of camp experience for each child.
Monday morning Volunteers will be needed from 8:15-10:00 a.m.
Medical Volunteer (Need Coverage Each Day):
This opportunity helps to provide medical attention to our campers. All individuals must be at least 18 years of age. Medical licensure or endorsement is not required, but preferred.
Although hours are flexible, we prefer that an individual works 10:00-4:00 p.m.on a given day. You may also work one or more days that week.
Activities Volunteer (Need 2-3 people each day)
Looking for some activity? This opportunity will provide you some hands on time with each camper. You will assist a Camp Counselor in specific activities. Activity volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and be able to engage in slight physical activities.
Activities run from 10:15-4:00 p.m. Volunteers are able to work 2-3 hour shifts or whatever your schedule allows.
Staff Gathering (Need 1 Family)
Enjoy entertaining? On June 20th or 22nd, we need a family to volunteer to host the entire Spring Hill staff of about 30. The Spring Hill staff will gather to have worship and Bible study. The host family will need to plan to feed their team and let them use your backyard for their meeting.
Their meeting goes from 6:00-9:30 p.m.

Reminders Regarding Family Service Responsibilities
- All K-12 families need to fulfill 40 service hours throughout the school year, unless you have paid the opt-out fee. EC-only families have 5 or 10 hours to serve, depending on enrollment hours. Please contact us if you are unsure of the hours your family will need to fulfill.
- Families are responsible to find, fulfill, and record their service hours in Renweb. Remember that family members over 18 can fulfill these hours (e.g., grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc).
- Service opportunities may be found on the website (http://www.tpcs.org/volunteers/FSA-Opportunities.cfm ), through classrooms, through sport teams, and through periodic communication from the Volunteer Coordinators.
Instructions to record your hours in Renweb may be found using the following link (http://www.tpcs.org/volunteers/logging-hours.cfm).
The Family Service Program start and end dates will now coincide with the academic school year, and not our fiscal year as in the past. Service hours should be completed and entered into Renweb by May 26th , 2017.
Thank you for serving along side us!
Please contact us if you have any questions!
