Washington DC update
Please keep our 8th grade studens and parents in your parayers, who are currently on the Washington D.C. trip. Today, they will be visiting several significant landmarks, including the Holocaust Museum, the Basilica for the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, and the FDR and Jefferson Memorial.
As they embark on this educational journey, we hope that they will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the history and culture of our nation's capital. We wish them a safe and enriching experience, and we look forward to hearing about their adventures upon their return.
Message from Mrs. Kalaus, Guidance Counselor
Advisory/Character Strong
As we approach the midpoint of the last quarter of this school year, please help your child to stay focused and continue the good habits of being a successful student. Character Strong can help with this. When you reinforce the skills that are practiced in our Character Strong sessions, you help build resiliency, perseverance, and motivation, which are all important for a strong finish to the school year. Be sure to ask your child what they are doing in their classes.
8th Grade ACP Conferences
Eighth grade career lessons are now complete. Any parent of an eighth grader who would like to meet with your child and Mrs. Kalaus for an academic and Career Planning Conference (ACP) is welcome to do so. These conferences are held during the school day at a mutually convenient time. Your child will be pulled from class to discuss the results of their career exploration. Additionally, some details for the transition to high school will be discussed. Any parent interested in this type of conference should reach out to Mrs. Kalaus at mkalaus@smcatholicschools.org .
