WEEK OF RESPECT
The Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act (P.K.2010, c.122) requires that the week beginning with the first Monday in October of each year be designated as the Week of Respect in New Jersey. School districts observe this week by providing age-appropriate instruction focusing on preventing/remediating harassment, intimidation and/or bullying.
Our district is observing the Week of Respect (October 4th - October 8th) by providing age-appropriate instruction focusing on preventing and remediating harassment, intimidation, and/or bullying, in both an in-person and virtual setting. The week has been filled with lessons, discussions, morning announcements, and activities organized by the Anti-Bullying Specialists in each of our buildings. Many thanks to them for their hard work and commitment, as well as teachers and administrators for their support. As the week comes to an end, our hope is that the lessons on respect and how to take care of one another carry over into the days, weeks and months to come.

THERE IS STILL TIME TO DONATE...
CJ Hendricks, Health/Physical Education teacher at SBHS is participating on Sunday, October 10th, in the 49th Annual Long Beach Island Commemorative 18 Mile Run with a goal of raising $1,000 a mile; $18,000 total for two very important causes: Crossroads Middle School student, Ray Fantel and our South Brunswick School District’s Unified Sports Program. Through the generosity of so many over the last two months, he has raised over $11,000! C.J. has partnered with non-profit organizations, Neighbors Fundraising for Neighbors and the Crossroads Middle School PTO to support and raise awareness to both these important causes.
Ray Fantel has been defying the odds as he navigates life with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 with such bravery and support. At Crossroads South Middle School, a Special Olympics Unified Champion School, we offer many programs that help to promote inclusive student experiences through sport. These activities include but are not limited to: Unified Bowling, Track & Field, Lunch Buddies, Game Club, Aerobics, and other school wide inclusive school activities.
As we enter into our last week of fundraising, we ask our South Brunswick community to help us make one last push to try and reach our goal. Please go to the following link to donate and for more information: https://www.nf4n.org/hendricks
Thank you to everyone who helped C.J. reach his current total and thank you in advance to those of you who continue to help support our amazing students! GO VIKINGS!
