CTE in ACTION
Fishing Derby
Students assisted at the Moose Lodge Kids Fishing Derby. FFA student set up bright and early to assist the line up of families.
STP First Aid
Sports Medicine students and Advisor Gary Clinton co-host First Aid station with Alumni Ricky Alvarez of SE Thurston Fire for the STP.
Yearbook Camp
Jai and students attended the Walsworth training and got a strong start of the design for this year. They were recognized for "Outstanding Theme Design."
Thurston County Fair
Kudos to the advisors working with almost 50 students on their SAE projects and creating a Landscape display. Tremendous career and leadership skills demonstrated throughout the summer!
Business Week
Clare and Gabriel attended the UW Tacoma Business Week with Kayte Anchors. Ask them about this awesome experience and the networking they engaged in.
Rising Star Performance
Beth and I took a group of students to the 5th Avenue Rising Star performance of Westside Story with the support a donor providing the tickets. Alumni Sarah Burke played a leading role as Anita.
AVID & WICOR
The Tech Comm team attend AVID training focusing on WICOR strategies and how to embed into the freshman curriculum.
WA-ACTE Conference
Kayte, Joel, Austin and I attend the summer WA-ACTE Conference.
- Kayte and I presented "Inspiring Work Readiness" telling our story of Freshman interviews to Senior Job Fair.
- Joel presented on transitioning Engineering to Manufacturing. Austin said, "Joel is a wealth of knowledge."
- Austin attended the CTE Admin Intern workshop.

- WAAE Conference for the Ag Dept.
- CDX Automotive Curriculum Training for Brandon.
- Digital Camera Training for Melissa.
- Athletic Training for Gary.
- Microsoft Office Training for the Business Dept.
TASKS & REMINDERS
- You will start receiving invites to the CTE Department Meetings. We will discuss these in more detail at the Dept Meeting on August 28 following the building day. The invite for August 28 is coming shortly!
- Terri returns August 23 and will be working to catch up on all the activity from the summer.
- Remember the RAPID Portal is now the YCS Portal, and you don't need to use @ycs.wednet.edu to log in. Passwords didn't change.
- Please be patient as Tech is still working through Service Tickets. Only submit a ticket if it is a new issue.
