CrisisGo Symptom Screener

As we plan for our return to in-person learning for those families who have selected to have their students come to campus, we wanted to let you know about an important step prior to coming in each day.

CrisisGo Safety iPass is the system used to send a daily self-certification form through email to the guardians of all students that have chosen to learn at school during the pandemic. Guardians need to submit the form every morning and students will then use a mobile app on their phones to show an entry badge while entering the buildings.

Please follow this link for additional information about the system and process

Freshmen Orientation

Both schools are hosting a freshmen orientation from 8:00 am -8:25 am on Monday, February 8th, and Tuesday, February 9th to welcome our freshmen to the buildings. We are excited and ready to walk our freshmen through our re-opening procedures and orientate them to their new home. Attendance is mandatory for all freshmen returning in person.

Buses will pick up students on the 7:25 am route to get them here on time. If students are being dropped off, we ask that they are dropped off or arrive no later than 7:50 am.

Leyden Celebrates Black History Month!

This week marks the first week of Black History Month. All month long, here at Leyden, we’re going to be highlighting Black historical figures who have shaped America in ways that may have gone unnoticed. We will be using Twitter to shout out these figures via our Twitter handle @leydenpride212.

Today, we’d like to highlight Claudette Colvin. Nine months before Rosa Parks led the now-famous bus-boycott, 15-year-old Colvin refused to give up her seat to a white person. She was arrested for this act and did not gain the notoriety or praise Rosa Parks did because of her age, look, and status in society. Learn more about her by following this link.

Special thank you to Gina Caneva here at East and Janine Asmus at West for helping develop our communications and messages throughout the month!

Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences

The Parent-Teacher scheduler (PowerPTC) is now open. Parents/Guardians are able to sign up for conferences with their student's teachers.

Parents/Guardians will be able to select a 10-minute time slot between 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Interpreters will be available to assist parents/guardians if needed. To view instructions on how to schedule appointments please click

Virtual Residency Verification

Leyden residency verification has begun! This year verification will be done online. Home verification must be completed annually in order to register your child for the 2021-2022 school year.

You can find the online Residency Verification form as well as an instructional video at the Leyden website under the "Parents" section and select "Registration." This link will also direct you to the page. If you have any questions please contact the Assistant principals' office at 847-451-3025.

5Essentials survey

Leyden wants to hear from you! This survey provides Leyden administrators with important information that helps to better understand our parents, students, and staff. In order to remain compliant with this state requirement, Leyden needs a minimum of 20-percent participation from parents, students, and staff. We encourage you to please share your feelings, insights, and perspective with us via this survey, which was emailed directly to you on Feb 3 and will remain open through April 4.

Follow this link to go directly to the survey.

Course Selection for School Year 2021-22

Course requests for the 2021-22 school year will be final on Wednesday, February 10. If your child did not attend their course selection meeting, please contact your child’s counselor prior to Wednesday.

Student Services and Hybrid

The priority for students during in-person learning is that they remain in class. For students who need immediate assistance from a Social Worker or Counselor, a drop-in center will be available between 8:30a-12:30p. Throughout hybrid learning, social workers and counselors will continue to meet remotely with students via virtual appointments.
