"Be the Nice Kid!"

Principal's Corner

I hope this newsletter finds all you parents and guardians well. As I told my staff, this is not the direction we wanted to take, but for the safety of students and staff it was necessary. Please know the Maple staff is here to assist you. If you are having any issues with technology, don't understand something, etc., please reach out to your child's teacher or call the Maple office at 217-283-6665.

I wanted to again express how well the school year has gone so far. Students are doing very well with their masks and with all the changes that were made to their "normal" day. Behavior has been phenomenal. I am so very proud of our students and our staff. They have all worked extremely hard to make sure we make this a productive and fun year!

Maple STAR Data

Four times a year, Maple students participate in STAR Reading and Math Assessments. At the end of September, Maple students took their first STAR benchmark assessment. The next one will be in November. We always look forward to these assessments to see the growth in our students. Below are the results of the first benchmark assessment. These assessments assist staff with lesson planning and differentiating. Be on the lookout in December for our first comparison chart!
