#CelebrateMonday

I'm so excited to be writing my #CelebrateMonday message this morning!
It's been a rough start to this year, and several obstacles have stepped in the way of my routine of #Celebrat(ing)Monday. That's been frustrating - and given the obstacles, it might be easier just to quit sending these messages altogether. But I can't.
I need this positive message to look forward to on Mondays. Some Mondays it is tough to conjure the positive; I have to dig really deep to find it. I mean, Mondays are tough! But that's why it's so important not to give up on finding the positive and celebrating it every single Monday.
So let's get to it! Let's #CelebrateMonday!
KIDS. CAN. TEACH. US.
This kid is Oliva, and she goes by the name LivBit (@thelivbits on Twitter). She may be small but her message is mighty! She taught a room full of adults how to harness the power of social media (yes, even kids can do it), and how social media can be used for good.
She shared important lessons like:
- There are more people than bad people on social media, and kids need the tools to be able to navigate it all
- When people say things that aren't nice, we need to "block and bloom"
- We all need a digital tribe - those who can help teach us and who can lift us up when others try to tear us down
And perhaps one of the most important things she shared was that we need to be ourselves on social media - people will like that person!
Liv shares her passion for sharks, reading, and social media on her blog. You can read more about her by clicking below.
Isn't that amazing?? This 10 year old girl found her voice and is out there changing the world. She can teach us!
Imagine what can happen if we empower our students to teach us!
Not just our driven, "high-flyer" students - but ALL students.
If we step back and watch, what can we learn from them?
Can we learn compassion? Can we learn about fortitude? Can we learn about risk-taking?
#Kidscanteachus at school, at the mall, in the grocery store, on the ball fields/courts and at home.
Take some time to reflect on what #kidscanteach us as you #CelebrateMonday and consider sharing on the Padlet (button below) so we can all benefit from the awesome learning!
Sharing to the Padlet above will share within our district.
It's a great day to #CelebrateMonday! Make it the best Monday of the week!
Cheers!
