Information & Reminders
RIMPS
Thank you to Spencer for completing RIMPS for our K-3 Students! This was a BIG job and we truly appreciate you getting this done so quickly. RIMPS will be sent home on Monday, September 16th. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Constitution Day
We will celebrate Constitution Day on Tuesday, September 17th. Each year, schools nationwide take part in observing the day in 1787 that our nation’s leaders signed the U.S. Constitution. Schools and districts that receive federal funding must plan an education program celebrating Constitution Day. Click here for more information and resources.Bus Safety Drills
On Monday, September 16th students who ride the bus to school will participate in Bus Evacuation Drills when they arrive at Gates Mills. I will be out there to help the drivers but there is nothing you need to do. This is just an FYI!
Staff Meeting
We have a staff meeting on Monday, September 16th beginning at 2:45 PM. We will be discussing the State Report Card Data (released this week), ideas for what to do with the computer lab space (bring your ideas) and Jen will give us an introductory lesson on Schoology. Please make sure you are in the Idea Lab at 2:45 so we can get started right away - thank you!
Lexia Training
On Tuesday, October 1st a Lexia representative will be at Gates Mills to work with you during your planning time. This is a "C" day so you will have your special and whole class guidance. The expectations for the session will be: connecting online learning with face-to-face instruction. This will prepare you to:
- Discuss a Lexia product as a blended learning program
- Explore Lexia Instructional Materials
- Review where to find Instructional Materials and how to effectively integrate them into a blended learning model.
What are the Lexia Lessons, Lexia Connections, Lexia Skill Builders, and the Core5 Resources Hub?
How are these materials designed to fit into ongoing literary instruction?
How do they contribute to the success of students and the overall implementation?
