Principal's Message

We hope you are having a wonderful summer!

As you enjoy these last weeks of summer, we hope you'll add our Lemonade in the Shade event to your calendar. This year, Lemonade in the Shade will be held on Thursday, August 29th from 3:00-4:00pm. During this event, you will be able to meet your teacher and classmates, drop off school supplies, and enjoy some lemonade in the shade. Class lists will be displayed throughout the building.


  • 3:00pm - Doors will open.
  • Go to your grade level area in the building and find your name on a class list. Find your classroom and meet your new teacher.
  • Drop off your school supplies.
  • 3:45pm - enjoy some lemonade in the shade!

Kindergarten Assessments and First Day of School Information

On September 3rd and 4th, there will be no Kindergarten classes. Instead, on those two days, Kindergarten students will be taking individual assessments (30 minutes long) which will help teachers to plan and prepare for the start of the school year. You will need to sign-up for a 30-minute time slot on either of the two days, by using the link below.

Your Kindergarten child's first day of school will be based on last name as follows:

Thursday, September 5: Last names A thru M only

Friday, September 6: Last names N thru Z only

Monday, September 9: All Kindergarten students

Club K After School Zone Now at McKinley!

ClubK After School Zone is excited to add McKinley Elementary School to our Beaverton School District locations for the 2019-2020 school year, and get to know the unique and individual personalities of students and families that make up the school community. Club K After School Zone is committed to excellence in care, and have been providing before and after school child care programs, full day programs and summer camps since 2006.
