Staying the course with secondary schedules
Kuna families
This week, our Kuna School Board decided to continue our secondary students on the hybrid schedule.
If you listened to the meeting Tuesday (we are now recording the meetings and posting them online if you'd like to listen), you heard our trustees weigh the different concerns and interests.
The decision ultimately reflected a desire for stability and safety for everyone in a year marked by uncertainty, change, and hard work by everyone.
We recognize the decision was met with mixed emotions. Some parents, teachers, staff, and students rejoiced, while some parents, teachers, staff, and students were disappointed.
For those worried about their child's progress or lost opportunities during this time when they don't attend in person every day, I want to assure that we hear your concerns, and we share them.
Our principals and teacher leaders are discussing support strategies and options as the spread of COVID recedes in our community and staff receive protection from the vaccine.
Speaking of the vaccine, thank you again for your patience and understanding with the unexpected shift to an "e learning" day Friday.
We don't expect this type of shift to happen again, but does give us a good test run of what future "snow days" could look like!
Wendy
