MRHS Competes in BattleBot Challenge
Mesa Ridge High School's Engineering Club competed in the Sparkfun Autonomous Vehicle Competition (AVC) in Boulder last weekend. Contestants come from across the United States to compete in a variety of events including the traditional AVC, BattleBots, and several other technology-and robotics-related events. This was Mesa's first time competing. Their team had to design and construct a BattleBot to compete in a 3lb. weight category. The students named the BattleBot "Late Night." The team lost their first round, won the second (due to forfeit), and lost the third round. Despite the losses, the students had a great time and are interested in participating again next year. Watch Late Night in action!
