Summer Check-In
District Message Reminder
We are Gearing Up!
Hello Grizzly Families!
I hope you have been able to get out this summer and find little ways to escape this crazy reality in which we are currently living.
Over the next couple of weeks our teachers will be in trainings that will help us deliver a robust learning experience for your student(s) and meet the diverse needs of each of them so we can ensure high quality learning takes place this fall.
Again, I know there are a lot of questions so stay tuned for more details that are specific to Graham. Thank you for your patience, support and partnering with us! I will be in touch! In the meantime, keep enjoying these last days of summer, keep reading and stay smart! :)
Sincerely,
Mrs. Low
District Reminder!!
This fall, all Bethel schools will be starting the year 100% online. The Bethel Virtual Academy (BVA) is also 100% online. Below is some information to help you better differentiate between the two programs.
Remote Learning with Resident School and Teachers
- All students automatically remain active in this program unless parents enroll in the Bethel Virtual Academy. There are no additional enrollment requirements unless you are new to the District.
- Resident schools will provide an enhanced online program with increased learning time, structure, and teacher guidance.
- Required technology and curriculum supports will be provided by the district.
Bethel Virtual Academy (BVA)
- An initial registration form is required to be active in this program. Click here to access the form.
- After August 11, a follow-up confirmation will be sent to each family to verify BVA enrollment.
- BVA is designed for any family seeking a self-paced and highly independent learning experience.
- Parents play a critical role and must commit through a formal agreement to provide continuous support as their student’s BVA learning coach.
- The BVA schedule follows Washington State’s Alternative Learning Experience guidelines, including a requirement for 333 minutes of daily student engagement.
- Required technology and curriculum supports will be provided by the district.
- If you filled out an Initial Registration Form for BVA, but now prefer the Remote Learning with Resident School and Teachers option, please unenroll by emailing Mary Ann Mulloy-White at mmulloywh@bethelsd.org no later than August 11.
Movement Between Programs
- Students are encouraged to remain enrolled in their selected program. However, movement will be permitted during the pre-established transition dates.
- When Bethel students return to in-person instruction, families who remain concerned about safety may choose to enroll in Bethel Virtual Academy.
- Bethel School District is confident in the remote learning model being supported and facilitated by teachers and principals at all 17 elementary schools.
