Kuna families
What a great week for spring weather! I love seeing so many of our students outside participating in healthy activities.
Thank you to the many community members who volunteer to help with youth activities so our students have safe and healthy options after school.
2022-23 calendar options - it's down to two
Our calendar committee met on Tuesday to review the results of the 2022-23 school year calendar survey. Based on the results of the survey, they narrowed it down to two options which will be presented for the Board of Trustees to consider at its March 8 meeting.
You can review the two options here.
Thank you to everyone who took the calendar survey.
Recommended COVID protocols
Thank you to everyone who took the survey! Based on your input, the Board of Trustees will be reviewing the following recommendations to implement after spring break:
Make masks optional and encourage, but not require, their use when we have high outbreaks of illness.
Eliminate COVID decision tree and use Student Handbook on illness. --stay home when ill and/or test to stay with symptoms.
If person has tested positive for COVID-19, follow current CDC protocols.
Continue to help families and staff with testing as long as we have funds available to do so.
Stop updating our data dashboard and provide our community and staff with a link to the State of Idaho’s data dashboard.
Open Enrollment application reminder
The majority of our families enroll their children in the school assigned to serve their neighborhood. Some families seek a different school for a variety of reasons - closer to work, child care, etc. We strive to accommodate these requests, but we also want to keep class sizes within our limits.
The process to seek a transfer to a different school is called "open enrollment." The window to apply for the 2022-23 school year is open from March 1 to April 30.
Families must reapply each year. More information is posted online here.
