Graduation Ceremony and Practice Information
Practices for the graduation ceremony correspond to the ceremonies themselves. We have a practice at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 9th for those students participating in the 4 PM ceremony on June 10th. The other practice is at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, June 9th for those graduates participating in the 7 PM ceremony. It is important that students attend the practice for the ceremony; however, we have had students with conflicts that were impossible to resolve. If that is the case, the student must inform one of the administrators via email about missing the practice. We still need to plan for that student. Here are the administrators that you need to inform if there is an issue: Zachary_Ramberg@csd28j.org, Terrance_Schloth@csd28j.org, or Mairi_Scott-Aguirre@csd28j.org.
Students will receive their tickets at the graduation practice. They will also receive their cords, NHS tassels, etc. at the practice. We will make other arrangements if a student is not able to attend the graduation practice.

What to expect at the Graduation Ceremony
Our graduation ceremony will be held on the football field with two different ceremonies to accommodate social distancing. Students will be seated on the field in rows with social distancing. There will be live speakers, but we will have music recorded by our band and choir. Our students will walk across the stage and get their diploma jackets. They will be able to pick up diplomas after the ceremony before they leave. Students will have a chance to throw their caps; it will be a real celebration of all that they have accomplished in the last four years.
Parking
We have handicapped parking at the stadium. Only cars with handicapped placards will be able to drive down to the stadium. The other parking is at Powell Butte Elementary and at Centennial High School. The gate will be open to walk-in from 174th as well as the two gates from CHS.
Arrival Time
Gates will open 45 minutes before the ceremony begins. Graduates should also arrive 45 minutes early.
Masks
Masks are required. Graduates will be allowed to remove their masks for professional photos.
Seating
Families can sit together without social distancing. Different families/groups will have at least six feet of space between them. There will be seating on the home side of the stadium for about 750. We have about 200 seats on the visitor side. We have some additional bleachers that we are bringing in and some folding chairs that will be on the field. Guests are also welcome to bring a blanket and sit on the hill near the visitor side.
Noisemakers/Balloons/Large Bouquets
Please do not bring noisemakers or air horns. While you may be proudly celebrating the accomplishments of your student, the next student in line's family cannot hear their name being read and lose the opportunity to celebrate their student's graduation. Please leave balloon bouquets and large flower bouquets in the car. These block the view of other audience members.
