Twin Peaks Middle School
Weekly RAM Newsletter
A Brief Note from Dr. Burke
Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderfully refreshing break. I want to extend a huge thank you to our PTSA and all of you who contributed to our holiday luncheon. On behalf of the entire staff, we were overwhelmed with your generosity and could not have asked for a better way to begin Winter Break.
It's going to be a quiet week on campus as we settle into our normal routine. Please enjoy the pictures below from some of our December activities.
I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow and remember, it's a 1/3/5 day.
Former Twin Peaks Student Shares Important Message
During the last week in December, Talia Schauder, a former Twin Peaks Ram and current Poway High School junior, returned to campus to share her grandfather's experience surviving the Holocaust. Not only did Talia eloquently share her grandfather’s story, she made it relevant to her audience of two hundred 12-14 year olds, keeping them completely engaged for her entire presentation. That in and of itself is very impressive. Thank you to Talia and her father Mark for bringing this important experience to our school and for encouraging our students to use their voices to ensure Twin Peaks Middle School is No Place for Hate. Please copy the following link to view a portion of Talia's presentation. https://youtu.be/WJEB_0QkX9U Her presentation was so powerful that we hope to spread the word and bring it to other PUSD schools.
