Lin Howe Community Building Morning- "STEPS TO THE STEPS" Friday, Sept. 16 after drop off
On Friday, September 16th please join us after dropping off your student by taking some STEPS to the CULVER STEPS.
Mr. Chabola and representatives from our PTA and Booster Club will be in the area next to the Culver Hotel, known at the Culver Steps, to help bring family members together.
This is a great opportunity for our families that drop off on the Irving side of school (1st-5th grade) to get to meet our families that drop off on the Van Buren side (TK and Kindergarten).
We will be there from 8:35 to about 9:15ish.
Feel free to grab a coffee or food.
Back to School Days and PRIDE Songs
What an amazing Back to School Day experience for all our Parents and Staff. Thank you to all those you joined. You may be wondering what your children were doing while you were in their classrooms. Well, Principal Chabola and I had the amazing opportunity to build community with each grade level by having a discussion around what P.R.I.D.E looks like all around campus. The students pair-shared with partners, had public speaking opportunities, gave insight into improving school-wide systems, and finally, came together to sing our new P.R.I.D.E songs.
As part of our Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS), we are using the power of song to highlight our five school-wide expectations. In an attempt to bring the joy that we have seen and felt with students singing, our Fabulous Interventionist Ms. Hall and I have put together two sing-along videos for families to join in on outside of school. We encourage parents to use these videos to build community and encourage deeper conversations about what those five expectations look like at home and school.
We look forward to finding more ways to include our families as we Strive to Show our Lin Howe P.R.I.D.E!
