The Serene Scoop
Serene Hills Elementary School --- December 14, 2018
Happy Holidays
We are so grateful for the partnership we have with each of you. It is exciting to see your children thriving and growing each day. We love seeing them forge new friendships, care for their class community and rise to academic challenges. Thank you for sharing your greatest gifts with us every day. We wish you all a blessed Christmas and safe, relaxing holiday break.
Mrs. Nederveld & Mrs. Luedecke
Note, we will not have a newsletter go out next week, but you will receive one on January 7, 2019.
Winter break December 21 - January 7
Thank you HBMS Choir for treating us to some holiday songs. It was wonderful to welcome back former Sailors.
Ms. Plante took on the role of a flight attendant welcoming passengers to their adventure around the world. Learning is authentic.
Our SHE Spirit Squad promoted school spirit today at the assembly. Their team work, dedication and commitment really shows!
Some 4th grade math students went on a scavenger hunt around the building today solving math problems.
It took learning outside the traditional classroom. Learning is dynamic!
Students were so excited with this project, they forgot it was work. What a great way to keep learning inspiring.

Calling All Science Fair Judges!
We are looking for volunteers! No strong science background is required! We are interested in finding people who would enjoy spending time speaking with 8-11 year old children about their science experiment and be encouraging about their efforts. We are seeking friends, neighbors, and community members. We would love any Kinder, 1st, or 2nd grade parents to help, as well as any parents of 3rd and 4th graders who do not have a child entering a project in the fair. To maintain impartiality, we would like not to use parents of 5th graders. If you are interested in helping judge the Serene Hills Elementary Science Fair during the school day on Thursday, January 17, please let us know by completing this Google form. Feel free to forward this to anyone you think might be interested!
