The Sacramento expression of CityPRAYS

SCHEDULE CHANGE! Prayer event with Tom Demaree will only be held at the Capitol!

In our last newsletter, we shared information regarding two prayer gatherings with Tom Demaree, both on September 26, one in the afternoon and the other in the evening. Unfortunately, the Wednesday evening gathering at Trinity Life has since been canceled. We hope you will join Tom for the Wednesday day gathering which is still meeting at 3pm on September 26 at the Capitol in room 126!

City Gates Pray's 2018 City to City Prayer Walk - October 6

Congratulations City Gates Pray for 10 years of prayer mobilization! For those who have not heard, City Gates Pray is a group of committed Christians who share the love and compassion of Christ with others as they prayer-walk. This year they are expanding and continuing last year's prayer theme, which was based on Philippians 2:3, and adding to it this year's prayer theme verse 1 Peter 3:8, which encourages us to be like-minded, with compassion, and to love one another. When Founder Shari Bonnard thinks about the compassion of Christ, she says, "It compels me to go deeper in my heart cleansing. Can we as a church go beyond feelings of sympathy and pity? Can we actually extend mercy towards others with true compassion by 'rejoicing with those that rejoice and weeping with those that weep' (Romans 12:15)? Our motto is 'Prayer in Motion, Love in Action', meaning we want to do more than just pray. We want to demonstrate love through action by reaching out to those in need, by sharing the love of Christ and meeting their physical needs as well."

City Gates Pray invites and encourages you to join them October 6. For more information use the link below!

Tent America

God is moving powerfully in Sacramento! This is the time to rise up and join in intercession to see our state transformed for Jesus! Many of you may remember "Awaken the Dawn" last fall - an amazing gathering in Washington, D.C. where each state had a tent offering up worship and prayer for 3 days! This year each state is gathering in their own Capitol! Mark your calendars for September 27-29. We will be launching Thursday night, 6pm at the Cesar Chavez Plaza two blocks from the Capitol, until Friday morning 9am when it will move to the Capitol building from 9am to 9pm. At 9pm Friday it will move back to Cesar Chavez Plaza until Saturday 8pm. This is a time to surround our Capitol with worship and prayer! There will also be outreach opportunities as well as prayer times inside the Capitol building on Friday and Saturday (Room 126, 10am-4pm).

A Call to Prayer

"On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the LORD in remembrance, take no rest, and give him no rest until He establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth." Isaiah 62:6-7

Make it so, LORD, even with California and the watchmen whom You have established here! May we continue to intercede regarding the actions in the State of California Legislature even as YOU have called and positioned us!
