Principal's Message

We are now in the full swing of things here at CFT! This week we had our first fire drill! Fire drills and other emergency drills can be scary, especially for our younger students, but they are an important part of ensuring that every student under our care is safe and ready in the event of an actual emergency. We practice fire drills each month with a goal of evacuating the building in under 4 minutes. On our first try, we were very nearly there, with a time of 4 minutes and 9 seconds!

We also had our first assembly! It was a thrill to see the whole school together in one space, and we had a wonderful time. During the assembly, 5th graders led us in a school chant, we previewed the Golden Awards for positive behaviors (see below), sang the school song and cheered on some of our teachers in a Minute-To-Win-It style challenge. We will hold Golden Award Celebration Assemblies each month throughout the year.

Golden Awards:

Golden Bus - Achievement in Bus Safety and Behavior

Golden Tray - Achievement in Lunch Safety and Behavior

Golden Shoe - Achievement in Hallway Safety and Behavior

Golden Racket - Achievement in Specials Safety and Behavior

Golden Cone - Achievement in Recess Safety and Behavior

Kindness Award - Achievement in Kindness and Problem-Solving

On Wednesdays We Walk! Starting Wednesday, October 5th.

Announcing the Launch of the CFT Walking School Bus!

What: A volunteer-led community "Walking School Bus" to encourage close-by families to walk all or part of the way to CFT!

Where: Families will start in front of the Fowler Middle School Main Entrance and walk on the sidewalk down Walnut Street to CFT. Families and students are welcome to join the "bus" anywhere along the route! (Please only cross at protected intersections to join the bus).

When: Meet at 7:30 on Wednesdays, beginning on October 5th (Walk+Roll to School Day).

Volunteers needed! For a safe and sustainable walking school bus, we need one adult for each 6 students who walk. We encourage all caregivers who are able to join the bus and walk with their students. We're also looking for 2-4 "bus drivers" who are able to consistently lead the bus safely down the sidewalk. If you're interested, please contact the office and let us know!

REMINDER - Please pay CLOSE attention in both the morning drop off and afternoon pickup to cross walks. We have little students who you may not be able to see in your car. Go slow, follow staff direction and ALWAYS give pedestrians the right of way.

As we are headed into the fall season, rain will be arriving as well. Please note that recess is held rain or shine, so please send your student with appropriate outerwear, clothing and shoes.

You can click HERE to download/view the routes/stops. You may also download the Bus information in the PDF below. Please note that one stop has been added on Route 15 and that stop will begin on Monday, September 12, 2022.

Buses may be up to 15 minutes early/late the first few weeks of school. Also bus drivers are still learning their routes, so please have patience as everyone gets settled into the new school year routine.

The universal free meals waiver with USDA has expired. Beginning the 2022-2023 school year meals will be charged to the student accounts.

Please set up your student's meal account or apply for free meals through the Titan Program Website. TTSD is no longer using the My School Bucks Program. Any funds that were in My School Bucks have been transferred over to your student's account in Titan.

Please see the attached menu for breakfast and lunch at your school sites! Happy back to school season!

TTSD’s Equity Advisory committee will inform and advise the School Board and superintendent on the following: The educational equity impact of policy decisions; experiences of underserved student groups; situations that impact underrepresented students; larger district-wide climate; and additional topics related to educational equity impacts our students' experience in the district.
