Trunk or Treat
Thank you so much to our amazing PTO officers: Rachel Perry, Christy Domenicucci, Missy Sape, Jeff Sape and Tina-Marie Wohlfield for their efforts in planning our very first Edison Trunk or Treat! We had an amazing time and had a fabulous turnout. Also, thanks to all who hosted a trunk, donated items or donated their time. Edison is a very special place because of the dedication of our parents and staff!
Dismissal Changes
Help! Our office is getting bombarded with last minute phone calls about dismissal changes or early pick ups between 3:00-3:30 and it's becoming extremely difficult to keep up with. Please make your dismissal plan before school starts each day and try to stick to that plan. Otherwise, try to call before 3:00 when the occasional need arises to change your child's dismissal plan. We want to make sure every child is safely accounted for at the end of the day and last minute changes put undue stress on our office and our teachers to make sure they get it right.
Noon Aides
We're hiring Noon Aides. These individuals work 1.5 hours per day and we can be flexible with weekly schedules! Starting pay is $9.50/hr. This is a great way to stay involved in our school! If you're interested in joining our team, apply here: https://hr.fraser.k12.mi.us/Job_List.aspx and connect with our front office so we can process your application quickly!
Popcorn Fridays
$1 Popcorn Fridays have begun! The money raised helps to fund our Positive Behavior Program here at Edison- providing classroom prizes, monthly rewards, Student of the Month lunches, etc.
WatchDOGS
* For information about how to join our WatchDOGS team of father-figure volunteers, click here.
Halloween at Edison
*Parties- Classrooms will be planning for Halloween festivities individually, either before or after the parade. All parents attending classroom parties must have an approved background check on file.
*Costumes- Students should come to school in costume on Halloween. They can stay in costume for the duration of the day, or can bring something to change into. Costumes need to be school appropriate and cannot depict violence or excess blood/gore. No fake weapons are allowed in school (i.e. toy guns, swords, blades, etc). Masks can be worn for the parade, but not throughout the day. For costumes that have short skirts, leggings or pants need to be worn underneath.
This Week
Friday, October 25th- Popcorn Friday $1

Our Eagles in Action
Reminders
* School Hours- 8:35-3:30
* Attendance: 586-439-6590
*Birthday treats- Must be non-edible trinkets or individually, pre-packaged treats for students to take home (i.e. Playdough, Stickers or Skittles, Twinkies, etc).
* At dismissal time each day, K-2 walkers must be picked up at their door by a parent, designated adult, or older sibling. K-2 students will not be released to locate their families independently.
* When students are being picked up early, we can't call them down until the parent arrives to get them- so plan ahead for that turn-around time.
* Please try to solidify your child's dismissal plan before your child comes to school. This will help minimize the amount of last-minute dismissal changes, which leave room for error and can be disruptive to classrooms.
* If you "drop and go" at arrival time, please drop your child off right along the curb- for their own safety. If you drop them off in the thru-traffic lane, the traffic in the curb lane poses danger to them!
* 2 Absences Per Month = Less Likely To Graduate; Strive for Less Than 5 Absences Per Year
