Dress Code Reminders
Please see the below reminders from our student handbook in regard to our dress code policy.
“Students are to come to school as neat and clean as possible. Student dress should be appropriate and safe. Half shirts, spaghetti straps, sagging pants and bandanas are not permitted. Sleeveless shirts/tank tops are not permitted for boys. Tank top straps for girls clothing are to be two inches or more in width. Shorts and skirts must be fingertip length or longer. Yoga pants and leggings may be worn, if covered by an article of clothing extending to fingertip length. Tears or holes in pants must not be inappropriate or revealing. Shirts displaying a student’s stomach, chest or back are not permitted. Additionally, undergarments should not be visible at any time. No hats, caps or chains are to be worn in the building. Clothing with inappropriate or suggestive words, slogans, symbols or images will not be permitted. Any attire or accessory such as facial jewelry (nose, lip, and eye piercing), hairstyle or hair color that is distracting to the learning process will not be allowed. The school will have the final say on whether the dress is appropriate. Students will change into school provided attire until appropriate clothing can be provided. Detention may be assigned for repeated infractions.”
Masks are required for all students and staff. Face coverings will be required for students in all schools, including Windsor Middle School. Everyone in a district building will need to provide their own cloth face coverings; wearing them will be enforced on our school campus as part of our dress code policy.

A Message from Superintendent Dan Seegmiller
The 2020–2021 school year has officially begun. By the end of the day on Tuesday, approximately 7,500 students completed their first day of school in the Weld RE-4 School District. For the first time in our district, 668 students started the year virtually at Inspire4 K–12 Online School.
The first day back is always humming with excitement and some nervousness. Those feelings were amplified this week as students returned to the classroom for the first time in nearly five months. With masks, temperature screenings, and classrooms designed for distancing, there is no doubt that school looks different this year. Yet it was also clear that some things haven’t changed, as parents of kindergarteners, especially, and students at all levels—albeit more discreetly for those in middle and high school—snapped pictures of their students’ first day.
These first days showed how committed our community is to having students back in school and helping us keep our doors open as long as possible. We realize that new rules and routines take some getting used to, but it’s encouraging to see everyone doing their best. Thank you.
For our part in the coming weeks and months, you can expect that our schools will continually make adjustments as we see opportunities to improve how we serve students both from an operations perspective (e.g., foot traffic in our schools) and instructional perspective (e.g., lessons and assignments). In an environment of uncertainty, one certainty is that school will not look the same in week one as it will in week five. In addition to experiencing new content, you can expect what students learn and how they demonstrate that learning will evolve and progress over the year.
There will be challenges and bumps in the road this year, especially when transitions are required. However, we are ready to respond. We are confident in our plans and people—educators, students, families, and community—and our collective commitment to education, innovation, and empowering student success.
Thank you for your efforts to get us off to a great start! We are thrilled to have students back in school.
