Weekly Newsletter
Week of January 13th-17th
Welcome
I was so glad to see that everyone survived the cold weather last week! I cannot tell you how good it is to be back...I was getting antsy to get back to the classroom and get back into my routine. Our wedding was beautiful. I will hopefully have pictures to share in one of these upcoming newsletters in the next few weeks. I missed my students though, and am glad to be back at it!
This Week in 123
With last week being cut short due to the cold weather, we are continuing with our penguin unit this week. I will also put out some space books to touch on that unit, although we will forego most of it. We will compare our heights to that of an Emperor Penguin. We will also (hopefully!) get to blog about our learning!
This week, Wednesday is an early release day. The students are dismissed at 1:20.
In reading, we continue with Unit 4, Outdoor Explorers. The students will be introduced to a new high-frequency word, has. We will be talking about our world, and what we can do to help take care of it and our resources.
In math, we are moving forward with number stories and will start to add number sentences to our pictures. We will also learn about bigger numbers, and that they are made up of "digits".
Wrap Up
As always, let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or comments.
Love,
Mrs. Meinel
