Transition Focus for Remainder of School Year
Over the last two weeks our transitions school-wide have become less structured and are not as orderly as they were earlier in the year. I realize that we are combating spring fever, fatigue and middle school hormones, but its imperative that the adults in the building set the tone for culture and not the other way around. Reset the expectations for transitioning off & onto your grade level hallway during homeroom on Monday. Remember, lines are straight, silent and to the right when moving to & from electives, lunch, HAC and classroom bathroom breaks. If you have any questions about the transition expectations please don't hesitate to contact your grade level administrator or myself.
Scholars to Eat Breakfast in Cafeteria Monday-Friday
In preparation for EOG testing scholars will eat breakfast in the cafeteria and not in their classrooms Monday-Friday of this week. This will limit the chance of spills or incidents with the Chromebooks. If scholars enter your classroom with cafeteria food or food from outside (eg, McDonald's) please direct them to the cafeteria.
Faculty Assistance with EOG Proctors May 24-26
We are still in need of proctors for May 24-26. Team members who recruit a friend, family member or volunteer to proctor will earn "comp" time for June 13th & 14th if their classroom and equipment checklist is completed and signed by administration on Monday June 12th.
EOG Action Plans and Final Push Towards EOG Success (Growth---->Proficiency)
Every second counts as we prepare for our EOGs this week. Please use Monday & Tuesday to finalize your preparations for the test. Review research-based testing strategies, key vocabulary terms, formulas, etc... Let's not take anything for granted and let's not leave any stone unturned as we help our scholars earn 4s & 5s on their EOGs.
AVID Selection Day Celebrations Tuesday 5/23 9:30-10:30
Scholars selected for the 17-18 AVID elective will participate in a selection day celebration on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 in the media center.
Community Meeting Focus for this week (ACCOUNTABILITY)
Our core value for the month of May is Accountability. As we come to our final full month of the year please use community meetings to review progress towards each scholars' monthly goal and weekly supporting goals. Connect the goal discussion to the learning activities in your EOG Action Plan.
