Color Run is Here! Volunteers/Donations Still Needed
We are making our final preparations for our all school color run taking place the last day of school. If you have not considered volunteering or donating, please click the linked signup genius for options.
For volunteers that have already signed up, please click here for directions regarding your volunteer-area specifics. We will also cover these the day of the event when volunteers arrive at 12:00 p.m.
Lastly, here are a few important details that need to be shared this week before the signups and more information comes out mid-week:
- Students must act and abide by our school HONOR code. Despite it being the last day, consequences can carry over from year to year or even to high school. We will share this with students as well.
- Each student will have the opportunity to have protective eyewear provided, but we are encouraging students to bring their own eyewear as most of our provided sunglasses last year ended up littered around the run.

Now is the time to secure 2022-23 bus service for your K-12 students.
The Shawnee Mission School District provides free bus transportation to students living 2.5 miles or more from the school in their attendance area. To receive free busing you must register with DS Bus Lines.
To register students for transportation visit DS Bus Lines website.
Students who live less than 2.5 miles from the school in their attendance area may pay to ride the bus in areas with established routes. The 2022-23 bus rate is $185.00 per student, per semester or $370.00 per student for the school year. Routes will be established annually based on interest and enrollment numbers. Routes will be built around those who have registered by July 22 for the 2022-23 school year. To pay for busing visit DS Bus Lines website.
Families who pay fees by July 22, 2022 will receive a discount:
$160.00 per student per semester ($320.00 per year)
Payment must be received or postmarked by July 22, 2022 to receive the discount.

IHMS Peace Corner
The IHMS Student Services team has created a virtual calming room (click link) for students, staff and families to access in times of need.
We know that stress and anxiety can be high at times. This IHMS Peace Corner has videos and activities to help manage stress, calm down strong feelings and build resiliency. We hope that this will be another resource for our families to navigate this unusual school year. You can also find this page on our Student Services tab at https://indianhills.smsd.org/.
