Weekly Update

August 30 - September 3, 2021

Reminders & Updates

Thank you for a great week of testing. Our scholars strove to do their best and our teachers provided the support they needed. If you child did not take the MAP test, makeup MAP Testing will begin on Tuesday, August 31-Thursday, September 2nd.

Tuesday- 6th grade

Wednesday- 7th grade

Thursday- 8th grade

We are looking forward to receiving our scholars results by late September.

Thank you, parents, for getting them to school on time and ensuring they are ready to learn. Again, we apologize for your scholars being picked up and getting home later than usual, but our transportation department is making the necessary adjustments to pick up and drop our scholars off on time. Please download the ZPass app so that you may track your scholars and their daily bus routines. Should you have any questions, please email at zpasshelp@springisd.org.

Masks are required. Parents, please ensure you send your scholar with his/her mask EVERYDAY. Students without their masks will not be allowed to enter their classrooms; they will be allowed to spend the day in the Extension Center (EC) class and will not eat lunch in the cafeteria with their grade level. We are experiencing a shortage of masks. If you would like to donate masks to the school, please do so.

Remind your scholars to bring their water to school daily. To minimize the spread of germs, the water fountains are on ONLY to refill the students’ containers, not to drink from.

Students are to wear their belts to avoid their pants from dropping below their waste exposing their undergarments. We need your support in this endeavor.

Twin Creeks has high expectations that each of our scholars are capable of adhering. We need our scholars to focus on their academics and to communicate effectively when someone is bothering them opposed to inappropriately responding or reacting to various situations. Remind them to keep their hands to themselves and to speak politely. Equally important, they need to follow staff members directions the first time.

Progress Reports

This is a reminder that this year we are on a 9-week grading cycle. Students will receive a progress report after the third and six 6th weeks and then their report card after the 9th week of each grading cycle. Make certain you are reviewing their weekly grades in HAC and encouraging them to complete their assignments daily. If you do not have your HAC username/password, here is a link to Home Access Center Resources (Video and Presentation) to get started: https://wke.lt/w/s/mvn2ty. If you need a password reset, here is a video to help: https://youtu.be/7M_rb4eFKBs.

Fun Friday

This Friday, September 3, 2021, we will be wearing the colors of our favorite colleges and universities to help promote higher education. Make certain your scholar joins in on the fun.

Chromebook Checkout Link

Please remember to click on the link http://tiny.cc/sisd2021 to ensure your scholar has a chromebook. This is for students who do not currently have a chromebook. If you received a chromebook from any Spring ISD school, you are not eligible to receive another one.

Our Business Partners

Please support our business partners who support your scholars. Remember the daily interchange of our back-to-school yard signs, they were donated by our very own parent, Crystal Smith. Please see her work on FaceBook at N&N Creations.

If you are looking for a balloon artist or party planner for any celebratory events, check out N&N Creations on FaceBook and Frenchy's Glamorous Events & Things (Margaret Leday @ 832-416-1225 or on Instagram at frenchysglamorousevents). She provided our BTS balloon arch in the café. If you or anyone you know is involved in a car accident or need a good lawyer, check out the Cox-Pradia Law Firm (bigcityaccidents.com). The Cox-Pradia Law Firm sponsors special treats/luncheons for our staff.

PTO will be present at Open House and ready to help you join for $10 (cash only) to help support your students. We are beginning to plan some fun activities for our students. Your joining fees and your participation will help us plan events that your child actually likes.

Also, PTO will be selling the remaining polos ($22), t-shirts ($10), throwback paraphernalia ($5) and masks (1 for $15 or 2 for $20). Remember, cash only.

We look forward to seeing your scholars wearing their masks, in school uniforms, with fully charged chromebooks/laptops, their personal water bottles and eager to learn. Twin Creeks is a great place for your child to grow academically and socially.
