Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'
Sanitizing, Safety and References
We are taking many, many precautions to ensure the safety and health of students and staff. Please help us by continuing to do your part by ensuring a daily well check of your child. Please do not send children to school if they have a fever or illness.
https://coronavirus.utah.gov/ Please copy/paste this link for reference to the standards schools will follow in determining when a school or classroom will be closed. It states that 3 confirmed positive cases in a classroom within a 2 week period will close a classroom for a period of time. Also, 15 confirmed positive cases per school within a 2 week period would close a school for a period of time.
In a previous message I explained all the precautions we will be taking and the daily sanitizing that will occur. I have met with each staff member. We have thoroughly gone over protocol and expectations.
As a reminder, students will not be required to wear a mask at recess or lunch. While in class a face mask is required. If you have specific concerns, please call Mrs. Muirbrook and discuss them with her.
Lunch time is as follows:
2nd Grade: 11-11:35
3rd Grade: 11:15-11:50
1st Grade: 11:30-12:05
4th Grade: 11:45-12:20
5th Grade: 12:00-12:35
6th Grade: 12:15-12:50
Each grade level will have 15 minutes to eat their lunch. At this time students will go outside for a 15 minute recess. Students will be spaced out at lunch tables and have assigned seats. This is necessary for contact tracing, if required.
If your student is having difficulty finishing their lunch in 15 minutes please let me know!!! I DO NOT want a child to feel like they can't finish their lunch or leave the lunch room hungry!!!! We will encourage children to eat and not play so they can finish, and save the social time for recess. It is very important to me that lunch time not be difficult or stressful, so please communicate needs with me.
What My Child Needs to Bring to School
They need a clean water bottle each day. They will be able to refill water bottles in their classrooms. (We have plastic water bottles if they forget, but please try to remember. Just imagine the cost over a school year.....)
Children are welcome to bring their backpacks.
Most importantly - come excited to have a great day at school!
Please try to have only the parent and child in that grade go into the classroom. We want to do our best to limit large crowds. I know this will be difficult, and depending on the age of siblings may not be possible. But please help us and do your best.
We will have a fun surprise outside the main doors on the first day of school. This will make a great picture spot and still allow social distancing. Please take any pictures in the classroom or with the teacher on Tuesday. Feel free to walk your child to their outside classroom door between 8:35-8:45 on the first day of school.
Check out the wall in the lobby! Thank you PTA. It looks awesome.
There will be a canopy outside the main school entrance for PTA sign-ups and Membership Sign-ups. Please stop by and support this great organization.
PTA will also have MASKS available for purchase and take home on Tuesday - 3/$15 or $6 each. T-shirts will be available to view for sizing and styles, and can be pre-ordered through the PTA on Tuesday or anytime at the store website https://artcityelementary.axomo.com/
We have a social media campaign going on Instagram! Tag an Art City parent or friend on the @artcityeagles latest post and be entered to win a Sodalicious gift card!
