FND Parent Education Network

FND PEN is hosting a virtual Mini Topical Conference with the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida on Tuesday February 22nd, 2022 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Zoom (Register in advance) and it will live stream in the DSACF Facebook page as well.

We will present 3 topics and each workshop will be 30 minutes.

1. Bullying Prevention 12:00-12:30pm

Bullying is real, it happens to all of us, it happens in every school.

In this discussion, we will look at constructive ways to deal with bullies

that you might encounter on a daily basis.

2. Helping with Homework 12:40-1.10pm

Is getting homework done more than a chore for your child? You’re not alone - most children avoid doing their homework. If you’ve ever wondered how to help your child do homework without a struggle, this training will show you how! Join us for a great discussion on new and fun tips for helping children with their homework and how to be supportive of their educational efforts.

3. Transition IEP & Moving Forward 1.20-2.00pm

The Transition IEP is the most important part when it comes to helping youth with disabilities learn how to successfully transition from high school to post-secondary opportunities. This workshop helps to teach everyone exactly how to make the most of the TIEP, and how to best work with youth with disabilities to make sure they have the tools and information to fulfill their post-secondary goals.
