Types and symptoms of Anthrax
The types of anthrax are cutaneous, inhalation, injection and gastrointestinal.
Cutaneous- small blisters/bumps (may itch), after the bumps come painless skin sores with a black center, on face, neck, arms/hands-swelling may occur.
Gastrointestinal- Fever/chills, swelling neck, sore throat /painful swallowing, hoarseness, vomiting/blood vomiting, diarrhea/blood diarrhea, headache, stomach pain, fainting, swelling of stomach.
Injection- Fever/chills, blisters/bumps where injected (will itch), painless skin sore, swelling, Abscesses deep under the skin or in the muscle where drug was injected.
Inhalation- Fever/chills, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, confusion/dizziness, cough, vomiting/stomach pains, headache, sweats (drenching), extreme tiredness, body aches.
Treatments and ways to protect yourself from getting anthrax.
Anthrax is treated with antibiotics called intravenous. Best for patients from medical history. Antitoxins help get anthrax toxins out of the body. If these do not work or as soon as you find out get help right away. To protect yourself from getting anthrax it is best to take Ciprofloxacin and Doxycycline. It is also best to get the anthrax vaccine called anthrax absorbed or AVA, this is used generally for adults.
