THOUGHTS FROM MRS. SHOCK...

Hello Huron Families,

I hope all of our families enjoyed summer vacation. I know I had a great time spending time camping with my husband and two boys. September is upon us and the staff here at Huron is very excited to welcome our students back to a new school year!

I love the start of a new school year. Anything new is always filled with the anticipation of a fresh start and new opportunities. Our students will have many opportunities to grow both academically and socially this school year. I can't wait to watch them flourish through the year!

This letter is full of important information to help us all get the school year started on the right foot!

Mr. Johnson has been promoted to Assistant Principal at Cheyenne and Shawnee Elementary Schools. We are so excited for him and wish him the very best. Mrs. Mary DePerro will serve as an Administrative Intern for the 2022 - 2023 school year for both Huron and Fox Elementary. We are so excited to have her with us. Below you will see a note from Mrs. DePerro.

Thoughts from Mrs. DePerro!

Huron Families,

My name is Mary DePerro and I am honored to be part of the administrative team this year at Huron. For the past fifteen years, I have been privileged to teach at Clinton Valley for one year and over fourteen years at Cherokee Elementary School. Throughout my career, I have had wonderful opportunities, including teaching overseas in New Zealand, instructing college courses, and working with the community to plan fundraising events to help schools and children.

I have two children; my son is going into third grade and my daughter is going into first. Over the summer, my family and I enjoyed going on bike rides, swimming, and movie nights. I hope each of you had a fun, active summer too. I can't wait to hear all about it!

My goal at Huron is to support your family and ensure your child has an amazing school year. I am eager to meet each of you and look forward to a great year full of learning, laughter, and excitement!

Sick Students

  • Please ensure to monitor your children daily to ensure that they are not sent to school ill.
  • Students who are not attending school on any day must be reported absent on our Attendance Line 586-723-5899. This line is open 24/7 so please call as soon as you know your child will be absent and always before 9am. When leaving a message, please leave student name, grade, teacher and reason for absence. If your child is ill, you must give the symptoms your child is experiencing and a diagnosis if confirmed by a physician.

Late Arrivals, Early Dismissal & Dropping Off of Student Lunches & Materials
