Oakview's Primary Pride

May 9-13, 2016

I hope each and every one of you had a blessed Mother's Day! It is another opportunity to count our blessings.

If you have not turned in your OrganWise time sheets for April, please get those turned in ASAP.

I hope each one of took the opportunity to preview the book fair on Friday. The purpose of having a book fair in May is twofold. One, if we have three book fairs in a year, the third one is buy one get one free. This gets more books in our students hands. The second purpose to host a book fair so close to the end of the year is to emphasis the importance of reading all summer. We will get signed-up through Scholastic for the Summer Challenge. This is where students log-in to document their reading time. More information will come soon about this program. Please encourage students to visit the book fair during the day because we will not host a "family night" this time.

With the forecast not looking promising for this week, Mrs. Raney will contact Mr. Schroeder, the high school principal, on another date that high school students would be available to assist with field days. As soon as I hear of an alternative date, I will let you all know. Until then, we can hope the rain blows on through our area quickly or that the meteorologists are all wrong. I know our students have been extremely disappointed for the past two years because of the rain.
